Rome Film Fest opens
Tenth edition of film festival opens in Rome.
The tenth Rome Film Fest opens in style on 16 October, under the artistic direction of Antonio Monda, with the opening film Truth being screened at 19.30 in the Sala Sinopoli at the festival's base, the Auditorium Parco della Musica. Truth is a political and newsroom-style thriller by James Vanderbilt, starring Oscar-winning actors Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford.
Earlier in the evening, at 17.30, the Sala Sinopoli will host an encounter with Oscar-winners, director Joel Coen and actress Frances McDormand, who have been husband and wife for more than 30 years.
The festival's opening day is devoted to the memory of Ingrid Bergman: celebrating the 100th anniversary of her birth, her daughter Isabella Rossellini will meet the audience at 17.00 at the Teatro Studio Gianni Borgna, screening a segment from Rossellini's film Siamo donne starring the Swedish diva. Later, at 21.00, the nearby MAXXI Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo screens Isabella Rossellini’s Green Porno Live! in the presence of its writer and star.
Younger viewers can enjoy the Journey into the Pixar programme world during the afternoon, with the screening of animated films at Teatro Studio Gianni Borgna, including Inside Out and the classic Toy Story.
