Rome New Year's Day Parade
1 Jan. Some of America's best-known marching bands are scheduled to perform in Rome on New Year's Day.
The highlight of the tenth edition of the annual event involves American marching bands joining forces with their Italian counterparts to perform alongside majorettes, street performers and dance groups in Piazza del Popolo, at 15.30.
In addition there are performances on the days either side of New Year's Day, in Rome's churches - including at St Peter's Square - and in the hilltop town of Frascati to the south of Rome.
Entry is free to all performances, and for more information see the Rome Parade website or Facebook page.
