Enlightenment
9 Mar-16 April 2005.
Dublins Peacock Theatre is proud to present the latest play from Shelagh Stephenson, the award-winning author of The Memory of Water and An Experiment with an Air Pump. Enlightenment is a gripping drama dealing with every parents most terrible fear: the disappearance of their child.
The parents of a 20-year old missing young man called Adam continue their search five months on from his disappearance. In their desperation they grasp at whatever hope arrives even in the unlikely and potentially misleading guise a compassionate spiritualist and callous journalist. Each time the telephone rings, they must endure the uncertainty of not knowing whether it is the news they have been waiting for or something far more tragic. This penetrating tale is one of longing and loss as well as an exploration of the search for truth and the outcome after discovering it. Tickets cost between 12.50 and 17.
