OsterKlang is an annual Easter time sonic feast for classical music aficionados. This ninth edition of this increasingly popular festival sees the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performing its rendition of Johann Sebastian Bachs Matthus-Passion as well as several other ensembles including the Hamburg Ballet performing Schuberts Winterreise, with choreography by John Neumeier. Numerous singers and soloists of world renown will be putting in appearances including Johann Botha, Bertrand de Billy, Martin Haselbck, Marjana Lipovsek, Helmuth Rilling, Christine Schfer, Heinrich Schiff, Peter Simonischek and Anne Sofie von Otter. Just some of the other masterpieces scheduled for performance are: de profundis, Pezzi sacri parsifal, the Life of Christ and Spring in Vienna. Tickets cost between 4 and 78.
