ATAC workers avail of their right to participate as voting scrutineers.

A total of 1,037 employees - including 758 drivers - from Rome's public transport company ATAC have availed of their right to participate as voting scrutineers in the European elections on 26 May.

As a result of their absence, ATAC says its service will undergo "remodulations "on 27 and 28 May (Monday and Tuesday), with services becoming "normalised" again from Wednesday 29 May.

In its statement, the company said: "The remodelling of the service will make it possible to combine citizens' right to mobility with that of ATAC employees who, according to the law, as always happens in the case of elections, have requested to participate in voting operations."
