An advertisement will soon be running on Italian state television to advise elderly people about the dangers of swindlers who often take advantage of the summer months when the elderly are at home alone. The film, using actors from a popular television series about the police, warns old people never to open the door to a stranger, always to check the credentials of anyone coming to the door claiming to be an employee of the gas or electricity company and never to pay bills to someone coming to the house. The film will also illustrate the dangers of withdrawing money from the bank or bancomat. The advice given is that old people should always be accompanied when getting cash, not to be distracted and never to linger on the way home.
