Popular Italian singer raising funds for Rome childrens' hospital

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is performing a charity concert to raise funds for the cardiac intensive care unit at Rome's Bambino Gesù paediatric hospital, at the Vatican's Paolo VI auditorium on 2 December.

The La Luce dei Bambini concert takes place at 20.00 and Bocelli will be accompanied by the Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini from Pesaro and the Corale Quadriclavio from Bologna.

Bocelli said: "I believe in the power of solidarity, I am convinced that we are all called to build a better world than the one we found, called to give back to the world all the good we have received, so that even the most unfortunate or weakest have the opportunity of a life full of opportunity and beauty."
