Anti-government demonstration in Rome.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to converge on central Rome on 25 October for an anti-government demonstration organised by the main opposition party Partito Democratico (PD).
Two separate protest marches will leave Piazzale dei Partigiani and Piazza della Repubblica at 14.00, arriving at Circo Massimo for musical entertainment by Max Pezzali, the Piazza Vittorio Orchestra and Fabrizio Moro starting at 15.00. Party leader Walter Veltroni is due to address the crowd at 16.30 and the demonstration is scheduled to end at 19.00.
Over 50 bus routes will be diverted and the Circo Massimo stop on Metro B will remain closed. For up-to-date transport information see the website of the city transport provider ATAC (www.atac.roma.it).
