Australians and New Zealanders in Rome will mark ANZAC Day 2018 with a memorial service on Wednesday 25 April at the Rome War Cemetery on Via Nicola Zabaglia, in the Piramide-Testaccio area, at 09.00.Originally held to commemorate members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey in world war one, ANZAC Day is now an occasion for the two countries to pay tribute to all members of their armed forces who died in both world wars and in action since.
An informal reception will follow the service at the Australian ambassador's residence on Salita dei Parioli 40. All are welcome but for security reasons an RSVP is mandatory for those wishing to attend: contact info-rome@dfat.gov.au or tel. 06852721.
