Ara Pacis museum vandalised.
The controversial Ara Pacis museum by American architect Richard Meier has been targeted by vandals who splattered one side of the building with red and green paint and deposited a toilet underneath.
The vandals have not yet been identified and no one has claimed responsibility, leaving authorities to guess that the act is either in protest against the structure itself or against Republic Day on 2 June.
Mayor Gianni Alemanno, an outspoken critic of the museum, has condemned the attack, saying that
