Banned bottles and cans.
Take-away drinks in bottles and cans have been banned in the historic centre of Rome between 22.00.and 06.00 until 10 October. The ruling, which could prove difficult to enforce at the height of the tourist season, comes in the wake of outbreaks of late-night violence in centre-city squares, especially at weekends. Only milk and mineral water are exempt from the ban, which comes into force on 22 April.
