Police investigating death of German in Rome.
The body of a 22-year-old German man was found on the banks of the river Tiber in Rome on 4 June, according to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
A passerby discovered the body of the unnamed man at around 07.00 near Lungotevere dei Vallati, between Ponte Sisto and Ponte Garibaldi.
It is not known whether the man was a tourist or a resident of Rome, and an investigation is now underway into the cause of his death. It is suspected that he may have fallen off the parapet above the river.
The incident comes about five months after a 20-year-old American student fell off the same parapet. Andrew Mogni suffered critical injuries and died in a Chicago hospital almost three months later.
Two years ago another American student apparently slipped off the parapet on Lungotevere dei Tebaldi, falling over 15m to his death on the stone embankment below.
