Bottles banned again.
The prefect for the province of Rome, Achille Serra, has decided to reintroduce the ruling that no drinks may be served in bottles or glasses at night in the most popular squares of Rome's historic centre during the summer.
The sale of drinks in glass containers will be banned from 22.30 03.30 on Friday and Saturday nights beginning 10 June until 9 July, in 25 squares and streets around the Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Piazza S. Maria in Trastevere, Piazza di Spagna and Via Monte di Cocci in Testaccio.
Provisionally this measure will be for one month; the prefect will review the ruling early in July to see if it needs to be tougher and extended to more nights of the week, or if the ban can be lifted.
