British School opens new gallery
The contemporary art gallery at the British School at Rome will re-open after three years' restructuring work on 3 Feb. The new, 180-sqm exhibition space was designed by Rome-based architects Francesco Garofalo and Sharon Yoshie Miura, and is part of an ambitious building programme begun at the school in 2001, its centenary year.
The gallery opens with an exhibition devoted to British video artists Nick Relph and Oliver Payne, who took the Golden Lion award for best artists under 35 at last year's Venice Biennale. The show will feature the video "House & Garage" together with a series of collages, and runs 4 Feb-10 March, Mon-Sat 16.00-19.30. For more information tel. 0632649381.
