Candlelit procession against prejudice and intolerance
On Thursday 24 September there will be a candleit procession in Rome to protest against all forms of racism, prejudice and intolerance. The procession will leave Piazza SS Apostoli at 19.00, passing through Via Cesare Battisti, Piazza Venezia, Via dei Fori Imperiali and finishing at the Colosseum.
The initiative was announced by the local provincial authorities in early September in response to a string of violent homophobic attacks in the capital. It has the support of Rome council and the region of Lazio as well as civil society organisations, gay and lesbian associations and trades unions.
