Closures on Rome's Metro A from June to August

Metro A works begin on 8 June and end on 25 August.

Sections of Rome's underground Metro A line will be closed at weekends in June and July, with more extended closures in August, to allow for maintenance works.

Rome mayor Virginia Raggi said the work had been "expected for years" and was necessary "to improve the service and guarantee greater safety for commuters."

The metro will be closed on the following dates, with substitute buses in operation:

On weekends from 8 June to 14 July, circulation will be interrupted between Subaugusta and Anagnina. Line A will remain in operation regularly on the Battistini-Subaugusta section.

On the weekend 20-21 July, the Colli Albani-Anagnina section will be closed. The line will remain active between Battistini and Colli Albani.

From 4-13 August, the Termini-Anagnina section will be closed but the line will be running between Termini and Battistini.

From 14-19 August, the line will be closed between Ottaviano and S. Giovanni but will remain active between Battistini-Ottaviano and S. Giovanni-Anagnina.

From 20-25 August, service will be interrupted between Termini and Battistini but will be running between Termini and Anagnina.

Service on the entire metro line will resume on 26 August, following the usual timetable.

However there has been no update on the reopening of two central metro stations closed due to malfunctioning escalators - Barberini and Repubblica - with the latter shut since October 2018.
