Decline in reality shows.
The many reality shows on Italian television are not drawing audiences as they used to.
L'Isola dei Famosi is now only attracting around 16 per cent of television viewers, Reality Circus' second episode was only watched by 16 per cent of audiences while Wild West followers have halved since the broadcasting the first show; currently drawing less than eight per cent of viewers.
Chi magazine has also revealed that RaiUno, one of the few channels that hasn't screened any reality programmes up until now, will soon be broadcasting its first reality show as well.
Consumer watchdog Codacons has requested that broadcasting authorities set a limit to the number of reality programmes aired. Codacons argue that these shows are all "photocopies" of each other which endlessly repeat the same old situations.
