Services on Rome's number 8 tram will be disrupted over six days between 26 October and 4 November to allow the replacement of tracks in Piazza di Porta S. Paolo and Viale Trastevere.

Work begins on the night of 26 October and will result in a cessation of tram services on 27 and 28 October, as well as from 1-4 November inclusive.

For the duration of the upgrading works the service normally provided by the tram will be replaced by shuttle buses along the tramline.

The shuttle service between Casaletto and Largo Argentina will follow the normal tram route, and the number 8 terminus in Largo Argentina moves to the bus stop on neighbouring Via Florida, with the bus route going along Via delle Botteghe Oscure to Piazza Venezia, Via del Teatro Marcello, Monte Savello, Lungotevere, Viale Trastevere and Circonvallazione Gianicolense.

During the upgrading work there will be increased bus services along the tram route, including on the H and 780 lines, which will stop at all the usual tram stops along Viale Trastevere and Circonvallazione Gianicolense. Also, the number 75 bus will not stop in Piazzale di Porta S. Paolo when going in the direction of Via XX Settembre, but will make two extra stops in Via Marmorata and Viale della Piramide Cestia.
