Door-to-door rubbish collection in Rome
AMA, the municipal company responsible for cleaning and the environment, has announced the launch of its door-to-door rubbish collection service in the Aventino, S. Saba and Testaccio districts and some areas in the historic centre to help residents separate household waste for recycling.
Under the scheme, the green roadside dumpsters will be replaced by new, small bins for each condominium.
Waste will be divided into four groups: food waste, paper material, glass/plastic/metal and non-recyclable waste.
Residents are asked to separate their food waste, which makes up around 30 per cent of each household
