Driving licences for all vehicles.
Anyone over 18 not in possession of a normal driving licence who drives a low-powered motor vehicle (motorcycle, tricycle, quad or one of the low-powered mini cars) must now obtain a licence to do so. The licence may be obtained by paying 40, presenting a medical certificate and following a 12-hour course at a recognised driving school, which costs about 200. Information about the new law is available at driving schools and at ACI offices throughout Italy
Last year the ministry of transport made it compulsory for 14-18 year olds to pass a test to drive a motorcycle, tricycle, quad or one of the low-powered mini cars.
