Poste Italiane embraces electric-powered motorcylces in Rome.
Rome's postini can now deliver mail using electric three-wheelers after Poste Italiane acquired 55 of the eco-friendly trikes to be used at the city's 19 postal delivery centres.
In addition to being better for the environment, the vehicles can transport large packages, with almost three times the storage capacity of standard motorbikes.
Poste Italiane says it delivers around 87,000 registered letters, more than 5,000 parcels and over 25,000 kg of ordinary correspondence each day in the city and province of Rome.
