Teatro dell'Opera di Roma hosts Morricone's final concerts at Baths of Caracalla.
Celebrated Italian composer Ennio Morricone will conduct six open-air concert at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome as part of the summer 2019 season of Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
The series of farewell concerts, which will see Morricone conduct music he composed for movie soundtracks, is billed as the maestro's swansong before he retires at the grand age of 90.
The concerts - on 15, 16, 18, 19, 21 and 22 June - are all sold out.
The much-loved maestro has written the soundtracks for over 500 films and television series, including the spaghetti westerns of Sergio Leone in the 1960s, and The Mission, the 1986 movie directed by Roland Joffé.
Morricone has also composed 100 classical pieces, and in 2016 he won an Oscar and a Golden Globe Award for his soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s movie The Hateful Eight.
