Eviction date postponed until end of January.
Caffè Greco, Rome's oldest coffee bar, has had its eviction date postponed, yet again, until the end of January 2020.
The historic bar near the Spanish Steps had expected to be closed down on 22 October, after 260 years in business, but secured a last-minute postponement of its eviction order.
Lawyers representing the managers of Caffè Greco and its owners, the Israelite hospital, are due to meet in court on 14 November over the future of the bar which opened in 1760.
The owners have been seeking to raise the monthly rent from the current €17,000 to more than €150,000 per month, according to reports in Italian media.
