Mayor Virginia Raggi to confer honorary citizenship on Italian composer.
Celebrated Italian composer Ezio Bosso is to receive honorary citizenship of Rome, in a decision approved unanimously by the city council.
Rome's mayor Virginia Raggi says the honour is in recognition of Bosso's "artistic excellence, as an ambassador of Italian musical culture around the world."
Pianist, composer and conductor of international renown, Bosso has been director of numerous orchestras including the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia in Rome.
Originally from Turin, the 47-year-old Bosso has been the recipient of prestigious awards both nationally and internationally.
