Fathers rights.
Fathers from two Italian associations demonstrated at Romes Fiumicino international airport mid November, warning foreigners not to marry in Italy. The men members of associations for divorced and separated fathers claim they are being denied access to their children.
They had a banner saying: Attention, Danger, do not get married in Italy, and distributed pamphlets claiming Italian laws on separation and divorce are too oppressive and do not take the needs of fathers into account.
The numbers of foreigners marrying in Italy is increasing, with Roman Catholic couples coming from Britain, Ireland, America and even from Japan to wed in romantic Italian locations.
