Feltrinelli expansion underway
Bookstore chain Feltrinelli is undergoing a period of expansion and renovation in Rome, with the second wing of the megastore at Largo di Torre Argentina due to open on 2 Dec. After the relocation of most of its 70,000 books into the revamped 800-sqm space next door in July, the old store is now also set to reopen after major renovation work. The resulting 2,000-sqm venue is on two floors and will sell music, toys, DVDs, videogames and stationery, as well as books. It will also feature a section selling books and guides in foreign languages, an exhibition space and a caf operational since 19 Nov. Another Feltrinelli megastore with the same varied offering is scheduled to open on 4 Dec in the restored Galleria Colonna on nearby Via del Corso.
