Around 4,000 people turned out to see the crowning of Mr Gay and Miss Lesbica Roma 2006 in S. Giovanni on 30 September. The winners were chosen from among 30 male finalists and 15 female finalists by a jury including members of Arcigay, Romes gay and lesbian association, as well as a representative from the city council.

Mr Gay Roma 2006 is 22-year-old Daniele Barboni, a dancer and clerk, who said he participated in order to overcome his shyness, while Miss Lesbica Roma 2006 is Veronica Vernillo, a 19-year-old student, who dedicated her victory to her mother.
