Parade celebrates 20 years in Rome
The mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino will open this year's Gay Pride parade on 7 June.
The parade begins at 15.00 and the route goes from Piazza della Repubblica to Largo Corrado Ricci near the Roman Forum.
The last Rome mayor to appear at Gay Pride was Francesco Rutelli who attended the inaugural parade 20 years ago.
During last month's Settimana Rainbow, a week-long initiative to prevent and combat homophobia and discrimination based on sexual orientation, the rainbow flag was flown over Rome's city hall from 12-18 May.
