The Joel Nafuma Refugee Center is participating in the global #GivingTuesday campaign by collecting sleeping bags, thermal socks and shoes "to help save the lives" of homeless refugees and asylum seekers living on the streets in Rome this winter.
#GivingTuesday, an annual day of giving that celebrates the power of philanthropy and generosity, takes place the week after US Thanksgiving, following the consumerist excess of Black Friday.
Those interested in joining the JNRC’s #GivingTuesday campaign can donate financially towards the campaign online, or purchase a sleeping bag directly through Amazon and ship it to the centre.
