ATAC increases security at Spagna, Colosseo and Termini
From 25 February security personnel at three of Rome's busiest metro stations will be accompanied by guard dogs, as part of increased security measures by the capital's public transport provider ATAC.
The ten canine units will be on duty at Spagna, Colosseo and Termini, each day from 10.00-20.00.
ATAC says the use of guard dogs is designed to act as a crime deterrent and it plans to extend the service to other metro stations in the future.
