Pope John Paul II, who was taken to hospital late on Tuesday evening, is expected to stay in the Policlinico Gemelli for a few days to undergo observation and medical tests. An official Vatican spokesman said that there was no cause for alarm and no further medical bulletins are expected on Wednesday.
