Rome workers unearth human skeleton outside Piramide metro station.
A human skeleton has been unearthed during road works in Rome's Piazzale Ostiense, outside the Piramide metro station and across the street from the first-century Pyramid of Cestius.
The mysterious discovery came to light in recent days as technicians from the capital's multi-utility ACEA dug up the road outside the entrance of the Metro B station, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
The age of the skeleton is unknown but it appears to be in a well-preserved state. The scene is currently sealed off to the public.
