Hydrogen-powered transport.
The Lazio regional government and Co.tral, the company that runs the regional bus service, have bought a hydrogen-powered bus. Large enough to carry 94 passengers (37 seated), the bus, which cost 250,000, can travel up to 200 kms and has a maximum speed of 50 kph. If trials are a success it could be the first of ten hydrogen-powered vehicles to go into service in the region by the end of 2006.
