Ikea Eataly Roma launches store beside Rome's Ostiense train station.
Swedish affordable furniture retailer Ikea has joined forces with high-end Italian food emporium Eataly to open the Ikea Eataly Roma store in the Ostiense district of Rome.
The 700-sqm Ikea store can be accessed from Eataly which has been based at the former air terminal site beside Ostiense train station for the last six years.
Although not as large as its stores in the Porta di Roma and Anagnina suburbs of Rome, the new branch marks Ikea's first major opening in town.
The two-storey outlet will have direct access to trains at Ostiense station, which is also connected to the metro B line at Piramide, as well as ample parking facilities.
In 2017 the Swedish company launched a small pop-up store in Piazza S. Silvestro, off Via del Corso, stocking only kitchenware.
