Saturday 8 December is the religious feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and an Italian public holiday. Firemen will place a floral wreath on the statue of the Madonna in Piazza Mignanelli next to Piazza di Spagna at 07.30, and Pope Benedict XVI will come to pay his respects around 16.00.
