Immigrant strike on 1 March
Foreigners living and working in Italy are striking on 1 March to draw attention to their contribution to society and protest against recent episodes of racism and discrimination. The protest draws inspiration from a similar initiative in France on the same day and there are demonstrations, concerts, exhibitions and other initiatives across the country.
In Rome antiracist groups have organised a protest march starting at 16.00 at Porta Maggiore and ending up in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in the heart of the multicultural Esquilino district. Here the strike
