An impromptu strike by the Roma Tpl bus company began shortly after 08.00 on the morning of Wednesday 10 April and it is not clear when it will end, according to Rome's mobility agency.
Roma Tpl operates 83 bus services in the capital's suburbs and currently there are 20 buses affected in the action, which came without advance warning.
The ATAC network of buses, trams, metro and light railways in the city is running as normal.
