The government has set up a telephone information line for immigrant workers and their Italian employers to provide guidance on immigration issues and especially domestic work. The service, called Linea Amica Immigrazione, comes under the auspices of the ministry of public administration and is available Monday-Friday from 09.00-18.00.

The numbers to dial are 803001 from a land-line phone or 06828881 from a mobile phone; these are the same numbers as for the pre-existent Linea Amica service launched by the ministry in January 2009 to provide general information and assistance to Italians in their dealings with the public administration. Callers need to select menu option two; the service is available in English, French and Spanish as well as Italian.
