Irish rugby fans in Rome for Six Nations

Weekend of sport, culture and beer for Irish and Italian rugby fans in Rome.

The Azzurri meet Ireland in the 2019 Six Nations rugby tournament at Rome's Olympic Stadium at 16.00 on Sunday 24 February.Fans of both rugby teams will be greeted with live music, beer and a party atmosphere at the Terzo Tempo Peroni Village 2019 in the stadium grounds, before and after the game.

Rory Best will lead Ireland - the reigning Six Nations champions, while Italy will be without captain Sergio Parisse after he suffered concussion playing for his club Stade Francais at the weekend.

The absence of the 35-year-old Parisse, the most capped player in Italian rugby history, is seen as a major blow to Italy's team whose coach is Irishman Conor O'Shea.

Six Nations ticket-holders will have free admission to 16 Rome museums throughout the weekend, thanks to the IV Tempo Rugby e Cultura initiative.
