James Bond to re-shoot Rome car chase
Technical fault leads to second shoot and closure of Via Nomentana.
The stretch of Rome's Via Nomentana between Via Gorizia and Via Messina will be completely closed to traffic from 22.30 on Tuesday 17 March until 05.00 the next morning, to allow filming for the 24th James Bond movie, Spectre.
The Bond production team filmed a high-speed car chase in the same area about a week ago but due to a technical fault the footage was damaged and the sequence involving the speeding Aston Martin and Jaguar has to be reshot.
The Spectre film crew had been scheduled to leave Rome on 15 March, while Bond actor Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes already left the Italian capital days ago.
The closure of Via Nomentana will lead to numerous bus detours, for full traffic details see Muoversi a Roma website.
