Keep the traffic flowing.
Double-parkers beware. As of 21 March police cars in Rome will be out photographing cars that are double-parked, across 17 kms of the citys streets. This is the mayors latest experimental measure to make traffic flow more smoothly around the narrow streets. Romans are notorious double-parkers and some will leave their cars almost anywhere, blocking not just the smooth flow of other vehicles along the streets but also other cars that are legally parked. Offenders caught by the traffic police will subsequently receive parking fines.
