Komen Roma race for the cure.
The annual Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation Rome 5-km mini marathon and a 2-km walk will be held Sun 16 May starting at the Terme di Caracalla Stadium at 10.00. The event will raise funds and promote awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrate breast cancer survivors and honour those who have lost their battle. The funds raised will finance local breast cancer education, prevention, treatment and support programmes.
The happening is a three-day event, in which participants can run, walk, cheer or just relax. Registration is by 9 May costs 10, e12 between 10-16 May, and e6 for children under 11 years. Registration for competitive runners is open until 13 May at GS Bancari Romani, Via Ostiense, 38e/f, tel.065781353, Mon-Fri 09.30-13.00, 16.00-19.30. Teams competing for prizes must register by 7 May. Italian residents must have a FIDAL card or a medical certificate attesting to adequate fitness for competitive running.
Individual prizes will be awarded to the top ten classified competitive runners and survivors, special gifts will be awarded for team events and many other prizes are offered to all registered participants.
