Ladies Open Golf.
Excitement mounts especially for golf fans in Rome as the BMW Ladies Italian Open at Parco de Medici draws near. From 2-5 June all eyes will be on young Roman player Federica Piovano, fresh from her very first professional win last weekend in Austria. Piovano put together her winning score with a record second round and an eagle on the last hole at Golf Club Fhrenwald-Wiener Neustadt, venue of the Austrian Ladies Open. In 5th and 7th place respectively were Italians Sophie Sandolo (she of the famous golfing-girlie calendar) and Veronica Zorzi. Romans will also keep a keen eye on home-grown Diana Luna, a winner last year in Tenerife.
Sheraton Golf Parco de Medici, Viale Parco de Medici 165/167, near EUR and the Fiumicino motorway. Exit no. 30 from GRA.
