The 18th Ladies Italian Open was officially presented at the Bernini Bristol Hotel on Thursday 26 May, the opening speech being delivered by the deputy mayor of Rome, Maria Pia Garavaglia. The traditional Pro-Am competition (teams comprising three amateur golfers led by a professional), begins on 1 June; this is a preliminary to the tournament proper, which will follow the customary format of 18 holes a day starting on Thursday 2 June and concluding on Sunday 5 June. The title sponsor is BMW.

Entry to Parco de Medici club on all days of the tournament is free.
