Largo Argentina bus stops moved

From 27 March the Largo Argentina stop for buses heading towards Piazza Venezia and Stazione Termini will be moved temporarily to Corso Vittorio Emanuele, opposite the Feltrinelli book shop, to facilitate the ongoing pedestrianisation of the area in front of Teatro Argentina.

Instead of turning right to Via di Torre Argentina, all buses coming from Corso Vittorio Emanuele in the direction of the centre will now continue straight on to Via del Gesù and Via di S. Venanzio in the direction of Piazza Venezia.

There are also modifications to the routes of buses coming from Via Arenula and then turning into Via delle Botteghe Oscure.

The measures are being taken to facilitate works to extend the number 8 tramline along Via Florida and Via delle Botteghe Oscure towards its eventual new terminus in Piazza S. Marco, just off Piazza Venezia.

The extension works are in at an advanced stage while the pedestrianisation of the area around the 18th-century Teatro Argentina is expected to take about three weeks.

On 21 March the terminus of the number 8 tram was moved temporarily to Piazza Benedetto Cairoli, about 100m before the original terminus at Largo Arenula, on the corner of Largo di Torre Argentina.
