New event sees 72 sites in Lazio region open to visitors on 21 October.
More than 70 historic homes in the Lazio region, including castles, monasteries and palaces, will open their doors to visitors on Sunday 21 October as part of the region's inaugural Prima giornata delle Dimore storiche del Lazio.The 72 sites, which are otherwise closed to the public, include Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, Castello Colonna in Genazzano and the Botteghe Farnese di Vallerano, in the province of Viterbo.
The visits, which are free, are organised in collaboration with Lazio Innova, the Istituto regionale ville tuscolane, the Associazione Dimore storiche italiane and the Associazione parchi e giardini d'Italia.
