Limits on street demonstrations in Rome
Demonstrations in Rome could be limited to one on Wednesdays and Fridays and two on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays, only one of which could be in the historic centre. These are the new suggestions under examination by the relevant offices responsible for traffic and law and order in the city.
There would be no limits on the number of demonstrations either on Saturdays or Sundays, or on protests confined to one city square.
These suggestions have been put forward after careful analysis of recent studies of traffic flows around the city. According to the findings Wednesdays and Fridays are the worst days of the week for traffic density, hence the suggestion to limit demonstrations on those days in particular.
