Major bushfire in Rome suburbs

Fire fighters are battling to put out a major bushfire that has engulfed several hectares of land in the south-west Rome suburb of Casetta Mattei.
The fire broke out on Via dei Malabaila, part of Valle dei Casali nature reserve, at around midday on Monday 19 June, leading to the closure of some streets in the area.
Over the past weekend Rome fire brigades responded to more than 100 fires - 80 per cent of them bushfires - according to Italian news agency ANSA.
