The city council has opened an office of "Decoro Urbano" which is open Mon-Fri, 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00, to receive residents' complaints about urban decay by telephone and e-mail. Office staff locate the problems, then pass on the requests for interventions to the relevant authorities. The office is inviting residents to tell them about rubbish, syringes and abandoned cars that need collecting; dirty parks; graffiti; broken traffic lights; holes in the road; and any other aspect of the urban environment that requires attention.
