May day concert
Nearly a million people are expected to attend the traditional May Day concert in Piazza S. Giovanni organised by the main Italian trades unions. The annual event, which will feature seven hours of music starting from 16.00 and be shown live on state TV channel Raitre, is set to be a predominantly Italian affair this year. Among the stars in the line-up are Carmen Consoli, Sergio Cammariere, Daniele Silvestri, Vinicio Capossela, Nomadi, Enrico Ruggeri and Andrea Mir. Australian singer Nick Cave will also be performing.
